Flexible hours, saving time and money on commute, and doing things at your own pace…once you’ve started working from home you don’t want to go back.
The pandemic has also encouraged more and more people to work from home. But do fit exercise into your working day.
It is important to work out when you work from home not only to boost your immunity, but also to help raise your productivity levels and increase creativity.
Schedule your workout in your working day.
Make it the first thing in the morning so you don’t have to deprioritise it during the day due to looming deadlines.
Switch off the phone while working out.
While working out turn your phone and laptop to mute so that you aren’t tempted to sneak a peek at any incoming emails or messages.
Maintain good posture.
Choose the work desk and chair that are ergonomically suited to you. Sit with your knees at level to your hips, with your lower back well supported and both your feet flat on the floor.
Avoid developing repetitive strain injury from using your keyboard and mouse pad incorrectly.
Take mini breaks during the day. Take a 5 to 10-minute break at least every 90 minutes, if not an hour. Walk around or do a few stretches.
